Growing in Unity - Day 2
Hello Unity Friends! Welcome to my second Growing in Unity post for Unity Stamp Company. Today I thought I would share three cards that feature a few of the awesome background stamps Unity is known for.
My first card uses stamps from the Newsprint Floral Greetings set for both the background as well as the sentiment. I stamped the gorgeous floral background in VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I water colored the flowers and leaves using Karin Markers in Pale Violet and Lush Green. I used the same black ink and clear embossing powder for the sentiment, trimmed it with my paper trimmer, and popped it up on the background with foam tape. This was all glued to a black card panel and then glued onto the white card base.
My next card gets a little snarky, but for the right person I sometimes can't help myself! I stamped the Infinite Birthday Wishes background stamp onto a 4" x 5-1/4" kraft panel. Next I stamped Miranda Girl with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink and clear heat embossed over it. I colored her dress and wine with Gelly Roll Sparkle Pens, trimmed a black mat for the image, and foam-mounted her onto the background. Finally, the sentiment is from the fun {read: snarky!} set Could Be Better. Again I stamped and clear heat embossed the sentiment, die cut it with a double stitched circle die, die cut a larger black mat layer, and attached it with a double layer of foam tape.
My final card for today uses one of Unity's awesome Background of the Month stamps; the Assorted Blooms stamp. I inked it up in VersaFine Clair Nocturne and clear heat embossed the entire background. I colored the background with my Gelly Roll Sparkle Pens and die cut the background using Unity's Make a Tag die set (which is unfortunately no longer available) to try my hand at the eclipse technique. I foam mounted the die cut tag back into the background to pop it up and allow a little of the black card base to peek out. I stamped Happy Birthday from the Gotta Love Sentiments set - a must-have set if you ask me - with Versamark embossing ink, heat embossed with Liquid Platinum embossing powder, and foam-mounted the sentiment onto the background.
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you liked the cards I shared. And don't forget to comment each day for a chance to win a $20 gift credit to Unity Stamp Company!
