Growing in Unity - Day 1

Hello Unity Friends! Welcome to the first day of my Growing in Unity week for the wonderful Unity Stamp Company. This is my third time being a GIU girl, the first having been in 2021 and then again in 2023. I hope you will take a peek at my cards this week. Don't forget to comment each day for a chance to win one of two $20 Unity gift credits to be awarded at the end of my week. Today I thought I would share two cards that both utilize kraft card stock, black, and gold - a combination that I like.

My first card is on an A2 kraft card base. The black panel was trimmed to 4" x 5-1/4". I distressed the edges with a distressing tool, splattered with Kuretake Starry Colors water color in "Light Gold," and set it aside to dry. I die cut a piece of kraft card stock with Unity's Postage Stamp {nesting dies} (sorry, they are currently sold out!). I stamped the floral image from the set "Whispy Prairie" which is a fairly old set and I couldn't seem to find it online anymore. I stamped the image in black ink and then ink blended Black Soot Distress Oxide ink around the edges. You can't really catch it in the photo, but I used Nuvo Aqua Shimmer in Midas Touch on the large flowers and Nuvo Aqua Shimmer in clear Glitter Gloss on the smaller, spiky flowers. Each layer is mounted to the card base using foam tape.

My second card is a small square card. I made a 4-1/4" x 4-1/4" kraft card base and stamped the January 2022 Background of the Month Celestial City {bkg 1/22} directly onto the card base. I die cut a stitched circle from a piece of black card stock and stamped the moon and moth stamp from the June 2024 KOM Whisper of Summer {kom 6/24} in clear embossing ink, covered it in gold embossing powder, heat set it, and foam mounted it onto the card base.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you will be back tomorrow. And don't forget to comment each day for a chance to win a $20 gift credit to Unity Stamp Company!
